Fancy a weekend running around the beautiful South Downs National Park? Long trails, pub grub, good company?
We are arranging a club weekend of trail running in East Sussex, from Friday 4th October to Sunday 6th October 2019, basing ourselves at the Glastonbury Hotel. This is a very social and running-heavy trip, offering up routes through the stunning South Downs National Park, and along the coast to blow away those summer cobwebs and kick start your winter strength training season in an epic manner!
The plan is to head out to Eastbourne by train, or car after work, on the evening of Friday 4th October for two days of running on Saturday and Sunday (with a social pub meal or curry on Saturday evening) and returning on Sunday late afternoon. We’ll have led runners each day with a long and a medium/short route – so something for everyone and you can go as hard or easy as you like. The run routes will be seen on the spreadsheet.
If you’re new to the club, then it’s a great way to get to know some of your fellow club members whilst getting some running miles under your belt. The weekend will also be good preparation for anyone planning to compete in trail competitions or signing up for the famous Ballbuster Duathlon. And it shouldn’t cost you much, either!
LFTC currently has 18 single beds provisionally booked at the hotel (be aware this trip has always sold out). If you would like to book please fill out the attached spreadsheet and pay an initial deposit of £25 by the 1st August 2019. Your remaining payments should then be made by the 1st September 2019.
This is an LFTC member trip, if you’re not a member you can get your membership here MEMBERSHIP.
· £25 DEPOSIT – paid when you sign up below
· £40 B&B FOR 2 NIGHTS + COASTAL BUS (so £65 in total including the deposit) – HERE
· £15 OPTIONAL pocket money for coffee and cake
All other costs such as trains, taxis, food and beer you will obviously need to cover yourselves. You can join to the WhatsApp group so we can arrange taxi sharing from Eastbourne station.
Southeastern Trains have services from Victoria and London Bridge direct to Eastbourne. Alternatively, you can drive or maybe you are able to catch a lift another club member by checking who’s driving on the spreadsheet.
If you have any questions about the trip, please drop an email to me Sylwia Tokarska (email@example.com) or speak to a committee member at your next training session.
We look forward to seeing you in the Garden of England!
