Fancy a weekend riding around the beautiful Kentish hills? Long cycles, pub grub, good company?
We are arranging a club weekend of riding in Kent, from Friday 15th March to Sunday 17th March 2019, basing ourselves at the Canterbury YHA . This is a very social and cycle-heavy trip, offering up routes through the stunning Kent Downs AONB, and along the coast to blow away those winter cobwebs and kick start the tri season in an epic manner!
The plan is to head out to Canterbury by train, or car after work, on the evening of Friday 15th March for two days of cycling on Saturday and Sunday (with a social pub meal or curry on Saturday evening) and returning on Sunday late afternoon. We’ll have two or three led rides each day: the long route will be approx. 165km, medium route 120km and possibly a short route of around 60km – so something for everyone and you can go as hard or easy as you like. The long ride can be seen on the spreadsheet and the shorter rides will be similar but with sections of the route cut out.
If you’re new to the club, then it’s a great way to get to know some of your fellow club members whilst getting some cycling miles under your belt. The weekend will also be good preparation for anyone coming on the club trip to Mallorca at the end of May. And it shouldn’t cost you much, either!
LFTC currently have 30 single beds provisionally booked at the hostel (be aware this trip has always sold out). If you would like to book please fill out the attached spreadsheet and pay an initial deposit of £25 by the 28th February 2019. Your remaining payments should then be made by the 10th March 2018.

All other costs such as trains, taxis, food and beer you will obviously need to cover yourselves, a whatsapp group will be set up so we can arrange taxi sharing from Canterbury station.
Southeastern Trains have services from Victoria, London Bridge and St Pancas direct to Canterbury which bikes are permitted on apart from during the rush hours between 4pm and 7pm. Alternatively you can drive or you maybe able to catch a lift off another club member by checking who’s driving on the spreadsheet.
