We are arranging a club weekend of riding in the Chiltern Hills on the weekend of the 6th – 8th April 2018. A fun cycling trip to launch us into training for the forthcoming tri season with some scenic, and challenging routes less than an hour out of central London.

The plan is to head out to the Chilterns after work on the evening of Friday the 6th for two days of cycling on the Saturday and Sunday (with a curry on Saturday night). We’ll have two different led rides each day: a longer route of about 120-140km, and a shorter route of about 90-100km, so there should be something to suit everyone. We’ll base ourselves at the YHA hostel in the town of Streatley, which is perfect for a big group of cyclists!

If you’re new to the club then it’s a great way to get to know some of your fellow club members, whilst having fun and getting some cycling miles under your belt. For people who don’t have much experience of cycling in groups, this will be a good opportunity to practise basic skills on some very quiet country roads. The weekend will also be good preparation for anyone coming on the club trip to Girona at the end of May. And it shouldn’t cost you much, either!

LFTC currently have 30 single beds provisionally booked at Streatly YHA (be aware this trip has always sold out). If you would like to book please pay an initial deposit of £25 by the 28th February 2018. Your remaining payments should then be made by the 31st March 2018.

The weekend is only available to club members. If you’re not a club member, you can become a club member until the end of April for just £12.50 via this link (membership usually costs £25 per annum from May to May)
