Executive Committee

 

Chairperson — Molly Whitehall

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision and leadership to ensure the continued development of the Club for the benefit of all the members and the local community. 
  • Work closely with the Committee and other members of the Club to ensure that the Club operates effectively. 
  • Initiate succession planning, to ensure that the Club is never without volunteers in key roles. 
  • Provide leadership to the Club Committee on key aspects of the Club’s activities from training and racing to fundraising and social activities. 

 

Club Secretary — Ellie Wiseman

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate the Club’s aims and objectives to the membership.
  • Answer or direct members’ questions to right places or people.
  • Give notice of all Committee Meetings, the Annual General Meeting and Extraordinary Meetings, together with an appropriate agenda, record the proceedings of all such meetings and document them as minutes.
  • Contribute to the good governance of the Club.
  • Administer membership of BTF, ensure that the Club remains compliant with BTF’s standards of good governance, and take responsibility for implementing any reforms required or advised by BTF.

 

Head Coach — J-J Chan

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and putting in place the schedule of coached sessions. 
  • Engage and collaborate with other members of the coaching team to prepare and execute an annual training plan and strategy that reflects the Club’s and the membership’s key goals.  
  • Work with and oversee other coaches in the preparation of execution of key coached sessions.  
  • Organise and chair regular meetings of the coaches and take responsibility for communication amongst the coaching team.  
  • Uphold and abide by the BTF Coaches Code of Ethics and Conduct. 

 

Club Treasurer — Fiona Martin

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the Club’s accounts. 
  • Administer payment for bookings. 
  • Administer payment for coaches and facilities. 
  • Administer payments of subs from members. 
  • Prepare and submit annual accounts to the Charity Commission and present them at the AGM. 

 

Welfare and Covid Officer (Adults) — Marta Bertran

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for individuals who have queries or concerns regarding safeguarding. 
  • Facilitate the process of DBS checks when required. 
  • Receive, record and forward to the Lead Officer of your Home Nation any concerns that are expressed to you. 
  • Keep confidential records of all related documents. 
  • Ensure that the Club has a safeguarding policy and that this is followed and accessible to all. 
  • Work with the Welfare Officer (Juniors) on all of the above. 

 

Welfare and Covid Officer (Juniors) — Izzy Jones

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for individuals who have queries or concerns regarding safeguarding. 
  • Ensure that all Club personnel who work with children / young people have received appropriate training. 
  • Facilitate the process of DBS checks when required. 
  • Receive, record and forward to the Lead Officer of BTF (England) any concerns that are expressed to you. 
  • Keep confidential records of all related documents. 
  • Ensure that the club has a safeguarding and child protection policy and that this is followed and accessible to all. 
  • Be familiar with national safeguarding and child protection policies. 
  • Work with the Welfare Officer (Adults) and the Juniors Lead(s) on all of the above. 

Juniors Lead — Sean Parrett

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and work closely with the Head Coach and other coaches to provide structured and appropriate sessions for junior athletes.  
  • Work with the Club Chairperson, Club Captains and Head Coach to provide a vision for juniors’ development and progression, including to the adult section of the Club and/or to age-group competition at national level. 
  • Work with key partners in the local community to encourage and inspire junior participation in triathlon, including organising events with other clubs and taking a lead on recruitment to the Club. 
  • Working with the Events Officers to organise the Junior Aquathlon and other juniors’ events. 
  • Administer the running of a junior section of the Club. 

Non-executive Committee

 

Para-Triathlon and Inclusiveness Officer — Laura Sheehan

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the needs of our para-triathletes and ensure the Club’s activities are inclusive.
  • Represent the needs of beginners and newcomers to the Club.
  • Work with the events team to promote inclusiveness in the events.
  • Hold the Committee to account in respect of considering diversity in the Club, including protected characteristics.

 

Events Officers — Matthea Roemer and Aude Grandpierre

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Events Sub-Committee to organise all Club events, including social runs, social swims, Club socials, other events.
  • Ensure the following are organised by working with volunteers:
    • annual Club training camp
    • running and cycling weekends
    • LFTC hosted races (including the Junior Aquathlon and the Senior Aquathlon)
    • Club socials (including the Christmas party and a summer party)

Cycling Officers — John Kennedy and Jess Golding

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Events Sub-Committee to organise Club cycling events, including social rides and other cycling events.
  • Encourage members to self organise rides.
  • Promote good cycling etiquette and skills in the club.

 

Club Captains (Women’s and Men’s) — Louise Whitting and Dan Allen-Bains

Responsibilities:

  • Administer the annual LFTC awards.  
  • Encourage member participation at training sessions and races. 
  • Provide support and encouragement to age-group athletes. 
  • Organise club kit including the year’s club gift (if no kit officer is in post). 
  • Act as a figurehead for participation in Club Championships and other events the Club targets, including organising logistics for those events. 
  • Select and promote races for the Club Championships and other target events (including the London League where appropriate).  
  • Work with the Events Officers to organise any additional events.

 

Communications Officer — Robin Carrega and Sarah Jones

Responsibilities:

  • Publish the weekly club newsletter.
  • Work with the Social Media and Marketing Officer to communicate messages to the Club’s membership.
  • Respond to inbox queries and communicate with Club members by email so they are well informed of the Club’s news and activities.

 

Social Media and Marketing Officer — Lucy Hatton

Responsibilities:

  • Implement systems to collect the content for posting on social media from the Club’s membership and work with the other Committee members to collect such content.  
  • Promote the Club and its presence on social media, including advertising events, supporting members’ activities and promoting the values of the Club. 
  • Work with the Communications Officer to communicate messages to the Club’s membership. 

 

Kit Co-ordinator — Sam Cunningham

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the club captains/assume responsibility for Club kit including the annual gift.
  • Design and distribution.

Website Designer — Sally Emerson

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build a new website for LFTC.
  • Educate relevant individuals on how to use the new website.

 

LFTC Aquathlon Co-ordinator — Sue Knox and Laura Sharpe

Responsibilities:

  • Organise 2-3 aquathlon races, open to the public

 

Club Camp Co-ordinator — TBC

Responsibilities:

  • Organise a week long training camp somewhere in Europe
