The World Championships are coming!

There is only two weeks left until the ITU World Championships in London! Exciting stuff. If you didn’t already know we have Sarah Allen and Nathan Smith (my twin brother and honorary LFTC member) competing for New Zealand, Matt Charlton and Rohan Byles competing for Australia, Sebastian Arroyave competing for Colombia and Guy Holbrow, Matt Osborne and Ellen Greaves competing for Great Britain. It would be great to get as many of you as possible to the event to cheer on LFTC’s finest as they give it heaps for their respective countries.

There is of course another world championship going on. The ITU World Championship Series winner will be crowned in London. This year, with the top three men and women being so close, the series will be decided at the final In London. It is going to be a fantastic race. The penultimate round of the World Championship Series took place in Stockholm last weekend.

Alistair Brownlee took out the men’s race with a solo breakaway on the bike. Javier Gomez is in great form and had the fastest run split of the day. If he can leave T2 with the Brownlee boys in London it could make for a very exciting finish.

Gwen Jorgenson ran through the field in the women’s race to take line honours. Non Stanford and Jodie Stimpson, on home turf, are certainly capable of winning in London also.

Next week Gail Wilkinson is off to Las Vegas for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. All the best Gail! We will be sending you some serious positive energy and following you all the way to the finish line on Sunday.

See you this weekend, Tim (LFTC Coach).
