A massive weekend of racing this weekend which sees LFTC battling the North Norfolk Triathlon Club and the crowning of our first Olympic distance club champions! All the best to those making the trip up to Wells-Next-the-Sea for what has been my favourite event on the race calendar for many years.
Kath Brasier is taking on Challenge Weymouth this weekend. Kath does an incredible job for the club and I am sure you will all join me in wishing Kath the best this coming weekend as she takes on her first Ironman distance triathlon. Amanda Wilmer and Gail Wilkinson are both using the half Ironman distance race as part of their preparations for Ironman Mallorca and the Ironman World Championships respectively. Give it heaps girls!
Here is a short video featuring Jan Frodeno discussing his move from Olympic distance triathlon to long course triathlon. One thing is for certain, Girona looks like a fantastic place for a training camp!
The Ironman 70.3 World Championships took place last weekend in Mont-Tremblant. ITU superstar Javier Gomez was up against former Olympic champion Jan Frodeno and current Ironman 70.3 world champion Sebastian Kienle. We also saw former ITU athlete Daniela Ryf take on some of the best female long course triathletes in the world. There was some fantastic racing with Gomez and Ryf coming out on top. Jan Frodeno was looking very strong and took second place. I look forward to seeing what Frodeno and Ryf can do in Kona this year.
I hope you all have great races this weekend. Can’t wait to hear how it went. See ya, Tim (LFTC Coach).
OH hello Jan and hello Girona! Training camp next year?
