A flying start to the season

The latest London League results after round two of the league makes for some impressive reading! Hal Crampin is leading the youth category of the Tribe Junior London League having placed 3rd in round one and 2nd in round two. Helen Croydon leads the 35-39 age group and Judith Crichton leads the 50-54 age group. Lauri Kytomaa is in equal 4th place in the 20-24 age group, Joe Dale is in 5th place in the 30-34 age group, Felipe Elias is in 1st place in the 35-39 and Krisztian Juhasz is 2nd in the 40-44 age group. The girl’s team are in are in 7th, our mixed team are in 3rd and to top it off the men’s team are in 2nd place in the competition!

The ITU World Triathlon Series hit the Gold Coast of Australia recently. It was an impressive display by Jonny Brownlee to take first place in the men’s race. Perhaps more impressive was Gwen Jorgensen in the women’s race, making it eight WTS victories in a row and proving to the cynics that she is a complete triathlete and not just a fantastic runner. This weekend the ITU World Championship series moves to Cape Town. GB has a strong team in both the men’s and women’s races so they should be a great races to watch.

Remember if you want to compete in the London League you must have at least one triathlon making up your top four races across the season. If you didn’t compete in the Thames Turbo Triathlon Race 1 event and don’t have a place in the Crystal Palace Triathlon then you only have the Jetstream at MTS sprint distance triathlon to qualify for a London League age group title.

Have a great weekend. All the best to those you competing in the London Marathon and Ful-On Duathlon on Sunday! Hopefully I will see the rest of you at training sometime. Cheers, Tim.
